This paper explores some of the advances in the institutionalization of political science in Colombia, considering that the stages of its creation as a vocation (1968-1990) and its expansion as a profession (1990-2006) have been completed. To do this, the article presents a brief overview of the history of political science in the country, with emphasis on the second half of the twentieth century. It also shows that advances in the institutionalization process of the discipline are linked to the creation of the Colombian Association of Political Science (ACCPOL) and the establishment of shared content and criteria in political science programs within the country.Downloads
