Experience Report on the Organization of the Graduate Student Seminar in Political Science

Abstract

This article presents an experience report on the organization of the Student Seminar of the Postgraduate Program in Political Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGCP/UFRGS), held between October 8 and 10, 2025, on the theme "Through the eyes of democracy: 40 years since the end of the military dictatorship". Organized in a hybrid format, the event promoted debates on democracy, authoritarianism, and political memory. The methodological approach combines the qualitative description of the organizational process with the systematization of administrative data produced during the organization of the event. The text presents a critical description of the seminar and is structured in an introduction and four chapters, which analyze the quantitative data of the event, the organization and logistics, the program, and the experience of the working groups, followed by final considerations with suggestions for future editions.
