First, notes were made on the phenomenon of the crisis of democracy, then we highlighted the updating of the canons and the emerging themes relating to democracy in the area of political science and, finally, we identified the descriptor democracy in the PPC of political science courses to based on documentary analysis, of a descriptive type, categorizing the incidence in the names of the disciplines, in the syllabi and in the bibliographies. It was found that the topic of democracy is not the majority, with a low incidence in some of the courses, with absences that could compromise the effective debate on democracy in the area.
