About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Drug Analytical Research is a scientific publication of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. It is an open access journal focused on publication of review and original articles in all relevant areas of analytical and bioanalytical chemistry applied to pharmaceutical sciences. The articles published by the journal are directed to researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, with the the mission to disseminate the knowledge and application of analytical techniques in the analysis of drugs as well as promoting the scientific development of the analytical area in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
For submissions, it is necessary to log in as author and use the TEMPLATE, which contains the Instructions for Authors.
All articles published in DAR receive the Digital Object Identification (DOI).
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available, permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, or link to the full texts of articles without charge to the user.
Manuscripts submitted for publication (only in English) must contain original and unpublished results and should not have been submitted elsewhere either partially or whole. Authors are responsible for guarantee the originality of the manuscripts submitted for evaluation.
Submitted articles can be checked for similarity through the software CopySpider.
Drug Analytical Research rejects any form of plagiarism and once verified, the manuscript will be immediately rejected.
Peer Review Process
The original and review articles presented will be evaluated by two prominent researchers recognized in the area, members of the journal's evaluation team (blind-review). The priority criteria to be considered involve innovation, originality, relevance and contribution to the research area. The deadline for the return of the opinions is up to 30 days from the date of submission.
Review Guidelines
Conducting a review
Confidentiality: If you accept to review, you must treat the materials as confidential documents. This means you can’t share them with anyone.
General overview: Read the manuscript in an overall view, considering the text organization, originality and agreement to the journal scopus.
When the review is proceeding, some items must be carefully observed:
- Methodology is sufficiently robust, considering the analytical scopus desired;
- Figures, tables, legends and supplementary material must include all data necessary for understanding;
- Results and discussion are well connected and sufficiently support the goals of the manuscript;
- In-text references are updated and really support the scientific scopus purposed;
- English language is being correctly applied along the text;
- The template was correctly used;
Ethical considerations
Experiments including patients or animals data should be documented. It is necessary ethical approval by the author’s host organization.
Competing Interests
Authors are required to disclose any possible competing interests when submitting a paper. These can include financial or commercial competing interests (e.g., patent ownership, consultancies, speaker's fee, company employees). This should be done for each author.
Financial or other relationships that may lead to a competing interest should be informed at the end of the article under “Conflicts of interest”.
If the authors do not have any competing interests, the following statement should be included: "The authors disclosed no conflicts of interest related to this article."
