The aesthetics of the oppressed in pandemic times: an experience with arts teachers from federal district

Abstract

This article propounds a theoretical-practical reflection on the COVID-19 pandemic impacts in one research about Theatre of the Oppressed done with art teachers from Distrito Federal. How could we think/do a liberation education in the context of sanitary, politicals, and economic crisis that set the pedagogical practices to remote learning? Initially planned to be realized with high school students, this research did a reorientation to verify how the Aesthetics of the Oppressed proposed by Augusto Boal (2009), in dialogue with a Liberation Education from Paulo Freire (2003), could bring forward a perspective supporting Performing Arts teachers in this pandemic times.

Graduada em Licenciatura e Bacharelado em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade de Brasília. Mestre em Artes Cênicas pelo Programa de P´´´os-Graduação da UnB. Atualmente é professora da Secretaria de Estado de Educação do Distrito Federal.
