This writing is made by many hands and stitched together with poetry. Here, four artist-teachers dialogue about strategies of teaching action in the school environment, describing and reflecting on the pedagogical practice developed during the Supervised Curricular Internship: Theater at School II, of the Degree in Theater at the Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina. A practical experience on field carried out from October to December 2021 is reported, with a sixth-grade class from the Municipal Education Network of Florianópolis/SC.The process is described and analyzed in this article by three teachers in training and an internship supervisor teacher, who is a PhD student in Theater and responsible for the Performing Arts discipline at the school where the pedagogical practice took place. Through letters, theories, inquiries and outbursts, the authors take a look at pedagogical action by reflecting on doing school in times of pandemic, sharing different expectations and questioning the results achieved in the classroom, seeking to dream together a reality possible through the relationship between literature and theater. After all, what is a theater class that “works”?
