Focus and Scope

The aim of the journal is to promote the intellectual production of artists, teachers, and researchers of the performing arts with thought plurality and constant improvement. It receives submissions from teachers and researchers, Ph.D., doctoral students or masters in Performing Arts and related fields.

Articles published in co-authorship have a limit of four authors, including the main author and up to three co-authors. Submissions from master's students, graduates, and undergraduates are evaluated provided they are co-authored with doctoral researchers.

It does not charge submission fees or article processing charges (APCs).

It publishes unpublished texts in Brazil that have not been published in another journal or scientific book and that deal with various aspects of the Performing Arts through articles, essays, critiques, bibliographical updates, book reviews, interviews or hypermedia. It also publishes foreign authors' works already published in their countries of origin as unpublished translations in Portuguese.

It proposes dossiers by grouping different sections around the same theme.

Peer Review Process

The principle of blind peer review is respected, it means that it counts on the opinion of at least two experts in the study field of the proposed article.

In order to submit scientific articles, authors should avoid submitting merely bibliographic articles, experience reports, academic reports or academic papers clippings without adaptation or academic rigor. No work clearly considered outside the field of the Performing Arts or written in a non-academic pattern is accepted.

The texts sent by the seer.ufrgs.br system are sent to two editorial board assessors or to ad hoc reviewer (field experts). Subsequently, texts which have obtained two favorable reviews for publication are sent for revision and proper publication layout configuration. The authors' texts that obtained two adverse opinions are returned to its authors. Divergent opinions between the two reviewers result in a third reviewer. If the evaluators made suggestions for modifications as a condition of publication, they are sent to the authors to carry out these reformulations. The approved texts are sent for the language revision and its standardization according to the Revision template.

The journal accepts research articles already published in Annals of events, since revised and improved, and may invite researchers to submit texts, to a lesser extent to the texts received in the form of articles.
