The nasopalatine duct cyst is classified as the most common nonodontogenic cyst of the oral cavity. It is usually asymptomatic and presents a higher incidence between the 2nd and 5th decades of life. The diagnosis is made through clinical, radiographic and histopathological exams. The treatment of choice is surgical enucleation, but in extensive lesions a decompression is performed previously. The aim of this study is to report a case report of a 56-year-old male patient who complained of maladaptation of total superior prosthesis due to an increase in volume in the palate. Clinical, radiographic, and histopathological examination were performed through an incisional biopsy for diagnostic assistance. The treatment of choice was decompression with subsequent enucleation. After a two-year follow-up, the patient has satisfactory prosthetic rehabilitation and no signs of relapse.Downloads
