Abstract

These study have compared the keratinization patern in epíthelial lining of 54 Odontogenic Keratocysts. All cases were registered in the Dental School Oral Pathology Laboratory of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Thirty nine (72%) cases presented paraceratinization in their lining and 15 (28%) presented orthokeratinization. Recurence ocurred in 4 (7%)cases, 3 of them presenting paraceratinized lining. It is sugested that the keratinization patem changes the biological behavior of Odontogenic Keratocyst.
