Abstract

Root canal morphology is a very complex system and its knowledge is one of the most important issues leading to success in Endodontic Therapy. The Clearing technique render teeth transparent and the complex internal morphology shows curvatures, lateral and colateral canals. The purpose of this study was to study internal morphology of different dental groups using the Clearing method regarding number and direction of canals as well as determining the relation teeth weight x clearing time. Seventy teeth were divided into seven groups (lower and upper incisors, canines, lower and upper premolars, lower and upper molars). The results show morphologycal patterns according to what is shown in the literature. Clearing time is proportional to teeth weight in all groups. Clearing is an efficient, easy and low price technique elicitin gatridimensional view of the complex internal morphology of root canals.
