Abstract

Limits on unidirectional health approach have been shown by studies that stand out the importance of multiple factors involved in the diseases establishment, manifestation, and treatment outcomes. The need of synthesizing the knowledge of different areas has required the formation of multidisciplinary equips in order to improve health attention effectiveness inside a health promotional model. However, the low frequency of dentists as part of multidisciplinary equips, mainly inside the hospitals, has been questioned. Thus, the purpose of this essay is to show the importance of dentist participation in multidisciplinary equips as well as to reflect upon the complexity of this activity.
