Abstract

A review of literature was made, not only because of the different points of view on the subject but also for the lack of research in this field. First comes the physiological aspects and then the cataloging of authors according to the use of this therapeutic treatment in different fields: pharmacologistsi pathologists, endodontists, surgeons and stomatologists. The purpose was to give a whole picture of the actual situation.
