Abstract

This program is based on a real fact: dental carie in the school population of Porto Alegre. Its purpose is to give some data on preventive and curative treatment of dental carie. The pilot program school hygiene was planned for a specific area of Porto Alegre and it presents its own and specific characteristics. It will develop according to an incremental basis. It may be considered as a paitern for programs of dental school hygiene and its purpose is mainly to serve as a training field of profesional knowledge improvement. It counts on the work of properly trained assistants which attended the course given by a group of supervisor dentists.
