Dental and periodontal tissues of teeth found in two dermoid cysts were studied. Very large and branching dental laminae were found, in such a way that each branching might, give origin, potencially, to a tooth or a denticle. In a certain way, in certain locations, there is a similarity with what takes place in the frog, alligator and some fish. The difference it that, in the dermoid cyst facts follow an anarchical way, or one not yet know to us. Some teeth show furrows or fissures, and by studying the forming teeth one can see that the ameloblast in certain zones are destroyed and replaced by a zone of vacuolization, which seems to indicate the beginning of the furrows and fissures. In the various teeth of the same dermoid cyst, dentin may look normal or else show a great amount of large interglobular areas, up to 520 micra. The pulp may not show any alterations, or else show calcic, hialine degeneration, zones of hemorrhage and pulp stones. Most fibers of the periodontal membrane run parallel to the long axis of tooth, and hair follicles can be present in the periodontal membrane. Malassez's epithelial rests present a large volume, but the localization is the same as described for the normal. The periodontium of protection presents, or not, lymphocitic and plasma cell infiltration in the conective tissue under the gingival sulcus epithelium.
