Abstract

Two granulomas due to foregin bodies in the mandible of two patients are presented. They were due to substances used after surgery in order to prevent haemorrhagias. It is enphatised that the formation of a granuloma could suggest the presence of a tumor and the surgeon might be misled and even induced to resect the mandible as in the case here presented. It is suggested not to operate without previous biopsy, clinical and radiological examination and the importance of the collaboraction between surgeon and the pathologist is particularily stressed.
