Abstract

This paper contains a comparative study of methods applied within the same teaching unity, for students of first class (freshman), by the Microbiology Department (School of Dentistry, UFRGS, Brazil) in 1965 and 1966 respectively. Taking into consideration the different teaching methods, it was analysed the learning process of the mentioned students. The grades got by them on examinations were considered as a measure to the progress.
