The drug induced gingival hyperplasias are abnormalities induced by the use of specific kinds of drugs (Phenytoin, Nifedipine, Cyclosporine), associated to the presence of local irritant factors (dental plaque, calculus). The proposal of the author in this article is to present, discuss and show the essential aspects of each kind of drug induced hyperplasias described, considering clinical and histological manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of them, and present the difierential diagnosis of this kind of lesion compared to other abnormalities that have similar clinical conditions. ls also showed one case, treated at FO-UFRGS, where the diagnosis and the treatment of one gingival hyperplasia induced by Nifedipine are shown and executed, and the results described.Downloads
