Abstract

Leucoplakia is a clinical term that refers to an alteration on the oral mucosa with the appearance of white patcher that are firmly adhered and can not be classified as any other diagnosable disease. Leucoplakia may have eritroplasic re¬gions and it is considered premalignant due to the increase in the risk of malig¬nant transformation. Then, it is necessary to establish a correct and early diagnose and also a precise treatment to prevent the oral cancer. The cytopathology is an exam performed by microscopic observation of cells obtained through scraping of oral mucosa. The periodical control of leucoplakia-suffering pacients is extremely important, and it can be clone through the cytopathology. The aim of this study is to do a review about leucoplakia and to presenta clinical case was clone. A prebyopsies cytopatological study and the folow up during the next 3 months.
