Abstract

Dental perforations are artificial voids which communicate the root canal system with the adjacent tissue. Despite the fact they may cause irreversible damage, the proper therapeutic approach enhance prognosis. Besides an accurate diagnose, a biocompatible and tight seal is desirable to attain success. Among other materials, Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), due to its excellent biological, physical and chemical properties, brings a new perspective in the treatment of perforations.
