Abstract

The formation of the professional in dentistry contemplates aspects linked to research and knowledge divulgation so that this professional become someone with discernment in his decision-making proccess. The “Semanas Académicas” (Academic Seminars) — organized by undergraduate students - are a good opportunity to update specific knowledge. Important part of this production rests on the presentation of projects by the students, the so-called “temas-livres” (free speeches). Considering the paradigm of dental practice based on evidences, we intended how strongly this pattern came up. Therefore, the idea was to evaluate the topics of the presentations over a few years in the “Semanas Académicas” of the College of Dentistry of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
