Utilização da metodologia lean six sigma para melhoria de equipamentos chillers em uma empresa metalúrgica da cidade de São Paulo

Atualmente, a gestão de utilidades nas empresas, uma subárea de Facility Management (FM), é uma atividade vital que busca constantemente melhorar o desempenho operacional por meio de equipamentos mais eficientes. O estudo teve como objetivo descrever as melhorias em equipamentos de chillers utilizando-se a metodologia Lean Six Sigma (LSS) em uma empresa metalúrgica da cidade de São Paulo. A pesquisa, de natureza exploratória, adotou um estudo de caso único com foco nos chillers do processo de anodização. Como resultado das melhorias implementadas, o tempo médio de reparo (MTTR) foi reduzido em 52,4%, o tempo médio entre falhas (MTBF) aumentou em 5,4%, e a disponibilidade dos equipamentos passou de 99,94% para 99,98%, evidenciando maior eficiência e confiabilidade dos sistemas. Devido à complexidade desses equipamentos, que sofrem influências do ambiente de instalação e do modo de operação, é crucial que o setor de manutenção mantenha atualizadas as manutenções preventivas, preditivas e rotinas. Estudos sobre o uso de ferramentas avançadas de melhoria contínua em FM são raros, mas imprescindíveis em um cenário altamente competitivo, como o da manufatura.
