Abstract

Currently, utility management in companies, a sub-area of Facility Management (FM), is a vital activity that constantly seeks to improve operational performance through more efficient equipment. The study aimed to describe improvements in chiller equipment using the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology at a metallurgical company in São Paulo city. The exploratory research adopted a particular case study focusing on the chillers in the anodizing process. The results showed that due to the complexity of these machines, which are influenced by the installation environment and mode of operation, it is crucial for the maintenance sector to keep preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance up to date. Studies on the use of advanced continuous improvement tools in FM are rare but essential in a highly competitive scenario like manufacturing.
