Inovações Frugais Sustentáveis: uma análise baseada no banco de patentes do Brasil

Com a crescente demanda por suprimentos, a Inovação Frugal (IF) pode ser um caminho saudável para o aumento produtivo necessário para atender os 9 bilhões de habitantes em 2050. Esse tipo de inovação procura atender às necessidades locais ou de um público com alguma restrição de recurso. Apesar da relevância do tema, o Brasil é pouco representado na literatura com casos de IF. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar Inovações Frugais Sustentáveis no Brasil, através de consultas ao banco de patentes brasileiro. As patentes encontradas foram classificadas como IF sustentáveis a partir de 3 requisitos: a) possuir custo baixo; b) foco em atender a uma necessidade local ou de um público com alguma restrição de recurso e c) conduzir à sustentabilidade. Ao final, 15 patentes foram identificadas, a maioria sendo soluções para os setores de saúde e alimentação. Tal resultado indica poucas soluções dessa natureza ainda no Brasil.
