REFLEXÕES EPISTEMOLÓGICAS A PARTIR DE TRAJETÓRIA DE PESQUISA COM OS ANACÉ, CAUCAIA, CEARÁ

Abstract

Considering the academic trajectory of producing a doctoral thesis about the Anacé Indigenous People and the Pecém Port and Industry Complex, in Ceará, I aim to present and to reflect on the limits, the possibilities and the learnings on the work and research with indigenous peoples, that brings challenges to the construction of an epistemology engaged and committed with those colective entities. Such epistemology must ensure other principles, that overcome the separation of subject/object, nature/culture, so functional to capitalism, questioning the classical canon that advocates their necessary distance in order to construct an impartial academic research. The arrival, the permanence and the academic production of indigenous individuals in Universities bring important tensions to the foundations of the Western-capitalist science, pointing to the necessity of decolonizing methodologies and all epistemical and onthological background that historically supported the research about indigenous peoples, demanding an academic production engaged and comitted to those colectives entities.
