O papel dos condicionantes domésticos na projeção de poder

Angola e África do Sul são dois Estados de grande relevância na configuração de poder na África Austral e no Continente Africano como um todo. Com trajetórias distintas, compartilham uma particularidade: a manutenção no poder de um partido originado em um movimento de libertação. Tanto o Movimento Popular pela Libertação de Angola (MPLA) quanto o Congresso Nacional Africano (CNA) estão no poder desde foram convertidos em partidos, o que traz impactos importantes nesses dois Estados. A construção das capacidades de Angola e África do Sul também estão sujeitas a outros inputs domésticos, como as condições econômicas e as instituições. O objetivo dessa pesquisa é analisar a influência que as variáveis domésticas têm na projeção de poder de Angola e África do Sul e na eventual disputa entre eles por uma liderança na região. Parte-se do pressuposto de que aspectos internos – não-alternância de poder e características das instituições – influenciam na formulação da estratégia de inserção internacional – política externa e política de defesa – desses Estados. Do ponto de vista metodológico, adota-se o método hipotético-dedutivo, tratando-se de uma análise histórica-comparativa, que se valerá de fontes primárias e secundárias.
