Lula's comeback to the Brazilian presidency symbolizes a return to the aspirations of regional leadership and emerging international power status, with Brazil's successful role as a global player, as occurred at the beginning of the new millennium with his first two terms in office. For this reason, this research article analyzes Lula's foreign policy facts that show a reentry of autonomy through diversification. It therefore pursues three specific objectives. The first is to analyze the International Relations theories contributions to the foreign policy autonomy debate. The second is to identify those moments that mark the use of autonomy through diversification during Lula's first and second presidential terms. Finally, recognize the foreign policy guidelines for the 2023/26 agenda based on his first 100 days.
