    Abstract

Since late 1990s, regional economic integration andChina’s rise have been a major forces shapingAsiaeconomy. Considering this background, this article evaluates some impacts of the current global financial crisis in that dynamics, particularly in the monetary and financial dimensions. We argue that the post crisis scenario is prone to the consolidation of China’s economic and financial leadership, and as a consequence, to the reinforcement of a Sino-centric integration process.
