CHINA: ANALISE DA INSERÇÃO COMPETITIVA DE UM MODELO SOCIALISTA ASSOCIADO A MECANISMOS DE MERCADO

Abstract

The main goal of this paper is analysing globalization in the context of economic and social reforms implemented by China in its mixed model of socialism and market. The work sustains the hypothesis that developmentist states succeed in promoting competitive insertions. A developmentist state, according to Evans (2004), is characterized by a relative autonomy in relation to interests of international capital, undertaking partnerships and involving different actors, while searching sustainable growth of market activities and also adopting policies oriented to social inclusion while enhancing economic competitiveness. The results point to the Chinese model as representing a developmentist state that searches competitive insertion and sustainable growth.
