      Abstract

      This paper aims to analyze the causes of internationalization and reform of Brazilian bank system, after Real Plan, in 1994. The emphasis of the paper is to discuss the impact of the internationalization process over bank competition, banking services, the Brazilian banks structure and specially the reaction of national bank against the internationalization process.
