TENDÊNCIAS DO PENSAMENTO ECONÔMICO DE CURSOS DE ECONOMIA: UMA ABORDAGEM EXPLORATÓRIA PARA A CIDADE DE PORTO ALEGRE-RS

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the prevailing economic views in the undergraduate programs in Schools of Economics in Porto Alegre City (UFRGS and PUC-RS). As results, the respondents tended to concentrate around six themes: "internal financial support to investments" (favorable to the liberal view), "foreign money" and "state company" (favorable to the development of the private sector), "protectionism" (favorable to the development of the nationalist public sector or non-nationalist or to the socialist view), "external deficit" (favorable to the private sector or nationalist public sector) and "inflation" (favorable to the nationalist public sector). On other issues -"planning", "salaries, profits, income distribution" and "agrarian reform" -, there was not similarity in most of the professors interviewed.
