MITSUBISHI MOTORS COMPANY OF BRAZIL AND TRADE UNION OF METALLURGY OF CATALÃO: RESULTS OF THE NEW NEGOTIATION ROUNDS

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the collective bargaining results of the new negotiation rounds between Trade Union Ofmetallurgy, Mechanical and Material Industries of Catalão Goiás (Simecat) and Mitsubishi Motors Company (MMC) and, there forein the new automobile plant of Goiás. The methodology is based on the classification of the Collective Bargaining Agreement clauses according to thematic scope as well as the comparison of these terms with the state legislation. Through this study, we verified a certain inertness of the agreement terms; however a change in their legislative contents could be noted. As regards the comparison, we have found that the agreements have established a set of additional rules in relation to the state legislation. Therefore, the agreements reached between Simecat and MMC have resulted in more substantial regulations for the labor relations.
