Using for Brazilian states data of Gross Domestic Product, Economically Active Population and Human Capital, we estimate a technical progress augmented production function, generating an endogenous growth model. Our results indicate that human capital plays an important hole in explaining state differences in per capita income. Next we estimate the relation between the growth rate and the initial per capita income, searching for evidences about the presence of convergence in per capita income. This hypothesis is accepted, despite of the low velocity of convergence.Downloads
