    Abstract

    Milk supply has been growing insufficiently, inducing to constant imports of dairy products, which are several times subsidized in their origin, as a way of minimizing the crisis of internal provision in critical periods. These imports being about a new concern with the development of the dairy sector, since they discourage the producers in their decision to increase production and adopt technology In this context, this study had the objective to evaluate the possible factors that influence or determine the import flows of milk and the effects on the dairy sector in Brazil, in the domestic and international contexts.
