    Abstract

A High Inflation regime can be distinguished from a price stability regime by the existence in the former of multiple monies-of-account for forward contracts. To each social group is conceded the right to set claims and obligations in contractual units reflecting each one's particular preferences. Inconsistencies in demands for the social product then emerge and are solved through perpetuating inflation. Stabilization requires a monetary reform that recreates a unique money-of-account. It can be achieved through: 1. monetary repression and/or 2. political agreement The paper discusses the deasibility of each alternative.
