About the Journal

Mission, focus and scope
Edited by the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul since 1983, the journal Análise Econômica reflects its theoretical-methodological plurality by publishing articles of a theoretical, historical, and empirical nature. Its mission is to disseminate scientific knowledge in the field of Economics through the publication of original works that are at the frontier of the various branches of economic science.

Peer Review Process
Manuscripts are first examined by the editorial team, which analyzes their alignment with the journal’s scope, standards, and publication guidelines. If these conditions are not met, the work may be rejected at this stage. Once these requirements are satisfied, the article is sent to two external reviewers, whose blind evaluations (double blind peer review) are made available to the authors at the end of the process. Regardless of the nature and depth of the reviewers’ recommendations, authors are requested to revise the manuscript based on the suggestions, corrections, and comments provided in the reports. Once the revisions have been addressed, the work may be accepted for publication upon approval by the reviewers in a second round of evaluation. In case of conflicting recommendations, the editors request the evaluation of a third reviewer; however, the final decision rests with the members of the editorial team. In the case of special issues, the evaluation of the works is the responsibility of the guest editors of the issue, who must follow the same editorial procedures as regular issues.

Open Access Policy
With a view to democratizing access to scientific knowledge, the journal Análise Econômica does not charge any type of fee or financial cost related to the submission, evaluation, editing, or publication process. The journal adheres to the DOAJ definition of open access, whereby the copyright holder provides free and immediate access to all its content (Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International license) and allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or create links to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

Statement of responsibility
Responsibility for the content of articles published by the journal Análise Econômica (RAE) lies solely with the authors.

Code of ethics and good publication practices
In accordance with the guidelines established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), which aim to regulate the code of ethics of scientific publications, the journal Análise Econômica (RAE) adopts the following editorial procedures, according to which it is the responsibility of:

- Authors: to comply with the Authors Guidelines in order to meet all conditions required for the manuscript to be submitted for evaluation. Articles that violate the aforementioned code of ethics of scientific publications, such as plagiarism, fraud, duplicate submissions, previously published manuscripts, falsification of information, fabrication of results, improper or ghost authorship, among others, will be summarily rejected.

- Editors: to analyze whether the work fits the journal’s scope, standards, code of ethics, and publication guidelines. If these conditions are not met, the manuscript may be rejected at this stage. Once these requirements are satisfied, the article will be forwarded to anonymous reviewers specialized in the subject of the article, whose evaluations are made available to the authors at the end of the process. Finally, anonymity of authors and reviewers must be ensured, treating all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.

- Reviewers: to consider potential conflicts of interest if they recognize the authorship of the work under evaluation, which must not be shared or discussed with third parties. In addition, they must analyze the article in light of the criteria contained in the evaluation form, whose responses will guide the editorial decision to be issued by the reviewer. Finally, reviewers are also responsible for identifying possible violations of the aforementioned code of ethics, such as the conduct listed above.

Resolution of conflicts of interest and violation of the code of ethics
At the time of submission, authors must complete the form (“Conditions for submission”), in which they explicitly acknowledge that they have no conflicts of interest of a personal, commercial, academic, or financial nature. Any violations of the code of ethics must be sent to the editor-in-chief, who will forward them to the editorial team and, if necessary, to the Department of Economics and International Relations of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul so that appropriate measures can be taken. If necessary, the journal commits to publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies.
