Abstract

Analyzing the working conditions of CAPS teams was the objective of this exploratory-descriptive study based on a historical-critical approach that interviewed 47 professionals from five CAPS in Cuiabá. The analysis identified: professional background and training, employment relationship, remuneration and collective organization. Most of the professionals didn't have any specialization in the area; the statutory relationship was predominant in the state public health system and the temporary ones in the city public health system, where 96% earned up to two monthly minimum wages; most of them were not unionized. We consider that those conditions cause difficulties for the attainment of the objectives of the psychosocial support.
