The study purpose is to describe how the Research Groups of Nursing Education (RGNE) are organized in the southern of Brazil. It’s a documental study, descriptive and explorative, of qualitative research, with the data collection from the CNPq Groups Directory website 2006 census. The south region presents 18 RGNE with 173 researchers, 148 have Master and Doctor Degree, 85 titles in the Education area, the most of them (97) work like professors and 164 nurses. There are 111 students, which 109 are from the nursing course. From this, 81 are graduating and 13 have the scientific initiation scholarship. There are 27 technicians, 22 are nursing graduated, 02 are professors, 07 are assistants, 09 work like both and 09 the curriculum wasn’t find. Therefore, there is a great need to invest in the interdisciplinary process and the teaching-working integration in the RGNE. The expressive participation of graduation students seems to favor the Nursing researcher formation.Downloads
