Since 1950, when the number of hospitals started to increase in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil, the treatment of illnesses has been the main focus of hospitals. This study aimed at analyzing how Nursing training influenced the institutionalized relationships in the hospital. This was a qualitative study, based on Archeology, Genealogy, and oral History, including training nurses that were students at that time. Analysis of discourse was used to study the documents. Among other aspects, findings indicated that the focus on the treatment of illnesses by the hospital still places Health Education in a lesser position.Downloads
