Abstract

 

This study evaluated the non invasive, visible implant fluorescent elastomer (VIFE) application, using the fish species’ Tricogaster trichopterus as a model, and aiming to verify the possibility of existing interferences on the development and behavior of implanted individuals for the ex situ management. It brings the first results of the applications of this method in Brazil and its results demonstrate that the bio elastomer is an adequate method, truly viable, safe and of employment in a natural environment conditions as management efforts, contributing, thus, to the knowledge of the dynamics, ecology and the actual status of fishery stocks.
