Abstract

Resumo: O trabalho investiga a participação da família de estudantes na gestãoda escola, por meio de observações em instituições municipais de ensino, analisando as concepções e práticas no cotidiano escolar. Fundamenta-sena teoria do cotidiano e nos estudos nos/dos/com cotidianos escolares, por entender que os sujeitos sociais não agem de forma homogênea ou única, mas assumem posturas diferenciadas, dependendo do tempo e dos espaços em que se inserem. Concluiu-se que a participação da família existe, mas possui configurações diversas, intimamente ligadas às especificidades do grupo social que constitui a escola, que sua ação varia de acordo com seus objetivos e que favorece o cumprimento da função social da escola e colabora na construção de uma cultura escolar democrática.
