The paper aims to draw a delimitation of the field of knowledge regarding the theme regulation and educational management by results. It uses publications in the form of theses in the field of Education, dated 2015 and 2020, and the analysis to which they were submitted was focused on theoretical and epistemological aspects. The results show consistency between focused themes and lines of research of the authors and adherence between levels of analysis, theoretical frameworks, and approaches adopted, in addition to the prevalence of critical positioning, with the establishment of central relationships to the understanding of the theme.
