Brazilian Law 10.639, which should ensure the teaching of "History of Africa and Africans, the struggle of black people in Brazil, black people culture in Brazil, and the black people in the national society formation, in order to redeem the contribution of the black people regarding to Brazil History”. The law in question has been approved for 15 years and, according to some research, even today it is more an individual action from some teachers than a pedagogical practice adopted by school institutions. The present paper consists in the presentation of a three year teaching practice in a private school directed to students of the 8th grade. Allied to the textbook, we seek to add African authors’ literature pieces not only intended to encourage reading, but also to transcend the classical and continuist formation.Downloads
