Textbooks approaches convey and translate the curricular policies and school concepts of each era. In the case of Geography textbooks, this can easily be perceived when comparing different editions of the same work. The present article aims to analyse how the textbook “Panorama Geográfico do Brasil”, written by the professor Melhem Adas and edited since the 1980s, has been addressing physical-natural themes throughout all its editions. In order to achieve this goal, this study adopted two phases: firstly, we inventoried how themes related to water, watersheds, and water resources are discussed in each one of the editions; secondly, we verified how changes in the concepts of School Geography along the last three decades have influenced the conception of the content approaches.Downloads
