This article is the result of fieldwork conducted in Rio de Janeiro. The objective of this activity was to reflect on the theoretical-methodological knowledge of undergraduate and graduate Geography students about the physical-natural components of geographic space taking School Geography, Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and the technologies used in education as references. Within the thematic and methodological framework, we chose to study Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the teaching process of contents related to “Earth´s formation”, “internal structure” and “continent-ocean relationship”. In this sense, we seek to understand how these themes can become interesting to students and what resources can be used to motivate participation and engagement during their approaches. When conducting the fieldwork, even with higher education students as participants, whether in the initial or continuing education process (postgraduate), the results showed gaps in terms of knowledge of the proposed themes. In addition, it became evident that the use of digital technologies in fieldwork as a mechanism for the perception of landscapes that are not observed in loco (such as the internal structure of the Earth), are great allies in the process of teaching and learning Geography and can contribute significantly to the construction of concepts.
