THE VISIBLE AND THE INVISIBLE: THE RELATIONSHIP OF BLIND PEOPLE WITH EXPRESSIONS OF ART

Visual arts, photography, theater, and dance are some of the expressions highlighted in the invisible and visible itineraries revealed in the narratives of blind individuals. These pathways built up through the senses, imagination, memory, and meanings, which intersect and blend, showcasing ideas about visual arts and presenting the interpretations and ways of acting of people with visual impairments in museums and art workshops—places where communication traditionally relies on the background of the sense of sight. The reports from the research participants lead us to understand that the eyes of blind people are areas of silence. As a result, there is not relation between the ability to see and the sight, but in the other senses of the body that inform them about things and beings through an interface with language, thus constructing the aesthetics of the world.
