Abstract

The purpose of this article is to problematize the relationship between Punk and the city,
showing how the emergence of this young lifestyle was strongly influenced by the
dynamics of urban life, and can be classified as a sui géneris form of city life. It is through
walking in the city that punks expose their aesthetic values and worldviews, confronting
a asseptic and orderly perception that seeks to difficult (or regulate) the nomadism of the
undesirables. The city presents itself to punks as a founding paradigm of their urban
experiences that takes shape from the production of oral and imagery narratives,
expressed in song lyrics, graffiti, poetry, etc. It is from this material that we will extract
the meanings mobilized by these actors "about the city", about "being in the city" and
about "doing the city”
