THE FLOWER: TOWARDS A POETIC ANTHROPOLOGY

This article aims to present a poetic ethnography based on the research
developed in the waters of the Jaguarão River and the Mirim Lagoon, on the border
between Brazil and Uruguay, having as interlocutors the fisherwomen and artisanal
fishermen linked to Colônia Z-25, bringing a way of living in confluence with the waters
and with the other beings that surround these environments: fish, cows, horses, rice, birds,
dogs and the lagoon landscape. The central theme of this text is to think about an
anthropology and ethnography from poetry, radicalizing its approach, tensioning and
rubbing ethnographic know-how in confluence with the most varied forms of expression,
from photography, widely used in research, as well as the poetic work that indelibly
permeated the fieldwork carried out by the anthropologist-poet, bringing the lyrical
lineages of this way of doing and feeling the dimension of life, having put the lenses of
anthropology and poetry, in a constant existential and academic dialogue, letting
themselves be involved by chance, by walks and by feeling-thinking, taking this way of
practicing anthropology seriously.
