Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing vinyl record collectors in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The vinyl record has, to its collector, a special meaning. The interviews with both collectors and experts sellers and the use of a multi-methodological approach allowed the findings of more pertinent and wider results, indicating that some collectors seems to be dislocated in time and their common day reality. The majority has a feeling of nostalgia to their records, but, stronger than that, is the everlasting feeling of involvement that is created along the years among the collector and his collection.
