SOCIAL SERVICE AND THE URBAN ISSUE: A study on the right to housing in the municipal sphere

The violation of the rights related to housing access is a phenomenon derived from crisis
of the capital. This article was carried out through the analysis done during the mandatory
internship in Social Services in the city of Sapucaia do Sul, which had the goal of
reflecting about the labor process of the social worker focusing on the right to housing in
municipal context. The debate here incited refers to the paradox between social rights
related to the urban question and the contradiction with the non-financing of social
policies that materialize such rights. Therefore, this article aims at creating reflections
concerning the social worker’s laborious activity in the urban question in the current
conjuncture, their main historic confrontations, and the relation with the Social Question.
