Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.-
The submission must include a cover letter containing:
- i) A statement that the manuscript has not been published or submitted to another journal;
- ii) A statement that the study was approved by an ethics committee, including the approval number, or a justification for exemption from ethical approval.
- The information entered into the submission system (title, abstract, authors, and affiliations) must match the information provided on the title page.

The title page must be submitted as a separate document (.doc or .docx) and must include:
- Full names of all authors;
- Institutional affiliations;
- ORCID and email address of each author;
- Identification of the corresponding author.

The manuscript file must be submitted as .doc or .docx and:
- Must not contain any author-identifying information;
- Must include the title and abstract, as well as the required sections for each article type (see Instructions for Authors);
- Citations and references must follow the Vancouver style.
- Figures may be embedded within the manuscript but must also be submitted separately in JPG format, preferably in color, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
- All authors must have read and approved the submitted version.
Editorial
Critical and thorough review, prepared at the invitation of the editors, and submitted by an author with renowned knowledge on the subject. This section may include the Journal’s editorial of presentation, signed by the editor, besides special editorials that comprise requested collaborations about current themes or about articles published on the Journal.

Special Articles

Original Articles
Articles with unpublished research results, including full-length studies that contain all relevant information so that the reader may evaluate its results and conclusions, as well as replicate the research. Its formal structure should present the following topics: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. The conclusions should be in the last paragraph of the Discussion, not requiring a specific section. Clinical implications and limitations of the study should be mentioned. For original articles, a structured abstract should be presented (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions) in Portuguese and English, in cases where the article is not written entirely in English.
